Josh Aitken delivers sunshine and sweet sounds
with his debut album“Dark Clouds”
Launching March 13
After 15 years of song writing and performing, gifted musician Josh Aitken has produced a solid 12-track album reflecting experiences and memories from his life. And his debut, titled ‘DARK CLOUDS’, has been worth the wait with a stunning collection of old and new songs, flowing with originality, great musicianship and beautiful melodies to create Josh’s first full-length album.
With its eclectic flavour of soft rock with an acoustic and country feel, ‘DARK CLOUDS’ pours Josh’s heartfelt lyrics and gentle ballads straight into the ears of the audience for their pure listening pleasure.
‘DARK CLOUDS’ was recorded over 12 months at Living Music Studios in Port Melbourne and was co-produced by Josh, John Favaro (Bad Loves) and Andrew McSweeny (McSweeny). Other influential musicians also played on ‘DARK CLOUDS’ and enhanced the songs with some fantastic instrumentation, such as saxophone by Wilbur Wilde (Jo Jo Zep, Old 55), violin by Gen Anderson (The Black Sorrows), female vocals and harmonies by Rachael Beck (musical show performer) and Rhodes piano, slide guitar, lap steel, flugal horn and trumpet by the incredibly talented Dorian West (Bomba).
Every song on ‘DARK CLOUDS’ is uniquely different with a particular melodic feel. Josh has a striking voice that could be compared with James Taylor, Paul Kelly or even Cat Stevens, yet has his own distinct sound which uniquely creates beautifully haunting tales.
Come and see Josh perform at the Northcote Social Club on TUESDAY 13TH MARCH, for the launch of this remarkable debut album.
‘DARK CLOUDS’ is distributed through Soundvault Records. It is available NOW at JBHI FI and independent record stores nationally.
